Description
There is no better way to start the day than to witness the sunrise at Mesa Arch. This classic sunrise is a favorite among photographers. Capturing the Sunrise at Mesa Arch requires a long drive into Canyonlands National Park in the dark before dawn. Mesa Arch will likely be crowded with photographers when you arrive at the end of the trail. The sunrise at Mesa Arch captures a starburst of sunlight as the sun rises above the horizon. You may also be able to capture another starburst during sunrise at Mesa Arch as the sun approaches the underside of the arch, just a few minutes after sunrise.
Wait and be patient, and you'll see the rock walls of the canyon begin to glow with an orange light as the sun appears. Capturing the sunrise at Mesa Arch is an essential part of a visit to Moab, Utah, even though it requires you get up early.
I captured this view of the sunrise at Mesa Arch on a cold January morning. Even though it was during the wintertime, there were still several other people here with me to witness the sunrise. Mesa Arch is a classic Utah viewpoint, and is best experienced at sunrise.
